Journal of Materials Education (Electronic) invites authors to submit manuscripts for Volume 2026, Issue 3–4, scheduled for publication in August 2026.

The journal welcomes original scholarly contributions related to education in materials science and engineering. Submissions may address pedagogical, technical, theoretical, practical, and programmatic aspects of materials education. The issue aims to support the exchange of high-quality academic work that strengthens teaching, learning, curriculum development, laboratory instruction, and professional training in the materials field.

Scope of Submissions

Authors are invited to submit manuscripts on topics including, but not limited to:

  • Materials science and engineering education
  • Pedagogy and teaching methods in materials education
  • Curriculum design and educational program development
  • Laboratory instruction and practical training
  • Assessment methods in materials education
  • Educational use of new materials
  • Materials characterization procedures in teaching and research training
  • Processing techniques and their educational applications
  • Interdisciplinary approaches to materials education
  • Digital tools, simulations, and online learning in materials science
  • Artificial intelligence and data-driven learning in materials education
  • Case studies in classroom, laboratory, or program improvement
  • Industry-linked and professional training in materials science and engineering

The journal encourages submissions that connect technical developments in materials science with educational practice. Manuscripts may focus on teaching innovation, laboratory learning, student engagement, educational resources, course design, program development, or the communication of materials-related knowledge at different academic and professional levels.

Open Access and Publication Charges

Journal of Materials Education (Electronic) is published as a Diamond Open Access journal. All published articles are freely available online to readers without subscription or access charges.

Authors are not required to pay article processing charges, submission fees, publication fees, page charges, or online hosting charges. Accepted articles are published without mandatory payment from authors.

All articles published in the journal are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), allowing readers to read, download, share, distribute, adapt, and reuse published work with proper attribution.

Peer Review and Editorial Process

Journal of Materials Education (Electronic) follows a single-blind peer-review process. After submission, each manuscript is first screened by the editorial office for journal scope, completeness, formatting, originality, and ethical compliance.

The initial editorial screening is normally completed within 10 days. Manuscripts that meet the journal’s requirements are sent for peer review. The full review process is normally completed within 4 months, depending on reviewer availability, manuscript quality, and the extent of revision required.

Accepted manuscripts will be scheduled for publication in the upcoming issue, including Volume 2026, Issue 3–4, where appropriate.

Submission Guidelines

Manuscripts may be prepared in any standard academic format. The journal accepts submissions in commonly used formats, including Microsoft Word, LaTeX, or other standard scholarly manuscript formats.

Each submission should include the manuscript title, author names, institutional affiliations, corresponding author details, abstract, keywords, main text, references, tables, figures, acknowledgements, funding information, conflict of interest statement, and ethical approval statement where applicable.

Authors should ensure that the manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration by another journal at the time of submission. All sources must be properly cited, and any third-party material must be used with appropriate permission where required.
